Step Two: The Electoral College

In today’s society, the election of the United States President is an extremely important and controversial event. The President is chosen not by popular vote, but by the Electoral College. After all votes are cast in a state, the elector usually votes for the person who received the most votes. However, the electors are not required to vote for the candidate with the most votes. Then the candidate who receives at least 270 electoral votes is declared victorious in the presidential race.

I feel that the Electoral College is an unfair way to elect the next president. Its use goes against the dictum of the United States voting process, that everyone receives an equal vote in the elections. The Electoral College system does not represent a fair election of the President of the United States of
America.

The official title is "President of the United States." Besides that, make sure you are proposing what you think is better than the electoral college--popular vote, a split electoral vote, etc. This will give you some more base when you and Trey begin to mediate the issue.
